Why an Altona patient might drive west to us.
Altona sits further east along the bay, closer to the city, so Sayers Road in Hoppers Crossing is a longer drive. We would not suggest making that trip for convenience alone. There are good reasons some people do, though.
You might have moved east and want to keep the dentist who knows your history. Perhaps other family members are already our patients and you like to book together. Or you may be looking at restorative or implant treatment, such as dentures, crowns or implant-retained teeth, and want it planned in-house by a team you can return to for maintenance.
Saturday appointments may make the drive easier and, where it is clinically appropriate, CEREC same-day restorations can reduce the number of visits. Patients from Altona Meadows are welcome too.

How far is Sayers Dental from Altona?
Altona is further east along the bay, closer to the city, so our practice on Sayers Road in Hoppers Crossing is a longer drive than for our neighbouring suburbs. Calling ahead helps us make the most of your visit, and there is free on-site parking when you arrive.
Is there a Saturday option?
Yes. We are open Tuesday to Saturday, and a Saturday visit may make the longer drive from Altona easier. Our contact page lists current hours.
Do you bulk bill under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
Yes, for eligible children aged 0 to 17. The scheme pays for basic services up to a capped amount, counted over two calendar years. If your children or grandchildren visit with you, we can check their eligibility when you book.
My denture has broken. What should I do?
Keep all the pieces and avoid gluing it yourself, as household glues can damage the denture and irritate your gums. Call us on (03) 9749 1178 early in the day; urgent problems are prioritised and we will do what we can to help promptly. For a serious mouth injury, swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that will not stop, call 000 or attend a hospital emergency department.
Is the practice easy to get into?
Our ground-floor rooms are at 1/483 Sayers Road, in the Montessori Minds Hoppers Crossing building, with free on-site parking. If you need help getting in or out, let us know when you book.
Will my health fund cover dentures or crowns?
Many extras policies contribute to major items such as dentures and crowns, but the amount depends on your cover, limits and waiting periods. Claims are made on the spot through HICAPS. Our preferred-provider arrangements cover nib, HCF and Westfund members. Ask for an estimate so you can check with your fund first.
